Meet the Artist + Jeweler
Hello, and welcome to my jewelry adventure!
What began as a creative hobby I loved has grown into a thriving business that I cherish even more. Creating friendship bracelets was only the beginning of what would become a lifelong journey of making, creating, and sharing beautiful things.
I'm a mother of three, and my dream of being a stay-at-home mom became the inspiration that transformed my passion into a profession. While I've been in business since 2002, my love for the handmade lifestyle stretches back much further—decades, in fact.
As a child, I traveled to art fairs with my Mom and Oma, both talented ceramic artists. Those weekends were filled with creativity, adventure, laughter, and the magic of watching handmade art find its way into people's lives. I fell in love not only with the art itself, but with the stories, friendships, and memories created along the way. Those experiences planted the seeds for the artist and entrepreneur I would one day become.
My passion for business led me to Kansas State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Business. Throughout college and during my first years working in the corporate world, I continued to study silversmithing and jewelry making whenever I could. I began selling my creations at art fairs and launched Tommi Crystal Designs, slowly building a business around something I truly loved.
After the birth of my second daughter, I took a leap of faith. I left my office career behind and devoted myself fully to raising my children and growing my art business. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Today, my artistic journey continues to evolve. As I pursue my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Metalsmithing, I am constantly learning new techniques, discovering fresh inspiration, and expanding my creative voice. Every new skill, every challenge, and every spark of inspiration finds its way into the jewelry I create.
My work is inspired by nostalgia, whimsy, nature, and the beauty of everyday moments. From hand-forged sterling silver to colorful enamels and carefully chosen stones, each piece is crafted by hand in my studio with intention, patience, and love. I believe jewelry should tell a story, spark a memory, and become part of your own personal journey.
To those who have supported me throughout the years—thank you. Whether you've purchased a piece, visited me at an art fair, shared my work with a friend, or simply cheered me on, you have helped make this dream possible. Your support means more than you'll ever know. Many of you have become not only loyal customers but treasured friends, and I am endlessly grateful.
Thank you for being part of this adventure. I hope the pieces I create bring a little beauty, joy, and whimsy into your life.
With lots of love,
Tommi Crystal
